Description: A very fine 19th Century giltwood elegantly simple overmantel mirror of exceptional quality with stunning overall distressing to the original mirror glass plate. The shaped and curved mirror glass plate of archtop form is set within a beautifully hand carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame adorned throughout with gorgeous carved bands of lambs tongue, beaded row and exquisitely detailed flowerhead motifs. Supported on a shaped platform base featuring ebonised detail and fabulous arrangements of scrolling foliate, beaded row, ruffles and flowerhead detail to each side.
