DescriptionSeveral countries emerged from the disbanded French colonial territories of French West Africa and French Equatorial Africa. The French kept their hands in, with, among other tools, the French African Community franc.Chad (Tschad) is a landlocked country in northern central Africa. It is one of the constituent members of the Central African Currency Union. The country has an internal structural “misalignment” between northerners, who tend to be Arabized, nomads or former nomals. Muslims, and southerners, who tend to be non-Muslim, farmers, non-Arabized.
